For well over a decade we have renewed quality vintage slab saws from almost all USA manufacturers. Our talented technicians and staff are fortunate to collect and cut some of the highest value Oregon agate and jasper. On occasion we cut large, high value material for museums and collectors that requires precision cutting. CigarBoxRock Lapidary’s number one goal has always been to produce an heirloom quality, durable, American made product you will be proud to own and pass on to future generations.
Built like an Abrams tank, a CBR Nelson saw is a dream come true for the professional, high-volume lapidary shop. Our blade arbor assembly is unmatched in both build quality and precision. Our heavy duty design allows for quick, accurate alignment. We’ve seen a lot of saw designs and this arbor assembly is the most superior lapidary saw component currently available anywhere.
In addition, we designed this saw so that any individual component may be serviced without taking the machine apart. This means way less down time because the precision alignment is never compromised, even when removing or swapping parts.
Our solid way rails, carriage assembly, feed gears, vise mechanism and just about every other component of the CBR Nelson is close to twice the weight of other 24” saws. Not for the faint of heart, this is a heavy machine. CigarBoxRock Lapidary believes in this overbuilt design for accuracy and dependability. We think you will agree.
We utilize mill grade Acme thread for our cross feed and vise clamping. The design of this saw is simple, strong and precise. Built to last a lifetime!

Heavy duty block hinges are long wearing. The hood can be opened almost a full 180 degrees allowing for easy cleaning and maintenance.

Any component can be removed, serviced, and replaced without compromising the precision cutting performance. Each piece is removeable in and of itself requiring no disassembly.
Unique split-nut design uses springs under compression instead of tension. This provides an extremely strong connection between the screw feed and split-nut minimizing the risk of stripping threads. The springs will last a longer because they are not being stretched.
Motor mounted with three points of contact. Minimizes vibration for smooth, quiet cutting.
Precision cross feed design with nearly zero slop. Allows for slabs of identical thickness, cut after cut.
Easily change the cut speed by changing the size of the feed pulley.
Heavy duty metal skates and casters (optional) will give many years of service.
